Last week I photographed a birthday party for 3 boys who all turned 4. The party was in the basement of the WestSide YMCA, and The Striking Viking Story Pirates came to put on their show. If you've never seen their show, you MUST check them out. They are a group of incredibly talented actors and musicians who take stories written by kids, and perform them for kids and adults. You can see their show on Saturdays at 2PM at their regular space in the basement of the Drama Bookshop on West 40th Street.
Each of the boys had a story that they wrote performed by the Story Pirates, along with several of the Pirates' classic numbers. Here are a few of my faves. To see even more pics of this party, click here.

Last week I photographed Simone's Bat Mitzvah party at the Downtown Association at 60 Pine St. What an incredible space! There was a room with a DJ for the kids, and a room for the cocktail hour, and a main dining room as well. Great party! Here are a few of my faves... xoxo

It was such a treat to photograph Aeneas' birthday party again this year. It was held at the Natural History Museum yet again! I'm not sure, but I think Aeneas is a bit of a dinosaur fanatic.
The people who organize the parties at the Museum are fantastic! Shannon and her team of dino-guides really kept the kids engaged and the party moving. After a quick tour of the 4th floor, (it was more of a WHIRLWIND!), Jerry from "A Touch of Nature" met the children back at the party room with lots of different animals. Jerry keeps the animals in these cases of various sizes, and you never know what's coming up next! The kids loved seeing the animals up close, and sometimes touching them, and they were completely engrossed with the presentation. Great party Mary!!!
